ART CLASS SUPPLIES
Lori Putnam's "Plein Air in the Sun and Moon" workshop


The following materials can be purchased at: Jerry's Artarama, AskewTaylor, Michaels or AC Moore
(depending on the brands).

Portable outdoor easel with neutral toned (or wooden) mixing area

• Canvas PANELS, not stretched canvas, 4 for each day in various sizes, 8 x 10 to 11 x 14

• Wet canvas panel carriers

• Book light, clip on light or hat light to illuminate your canvas when painting by moonlight

Oil Paints:
Please bring the palette of paints you are most comfortable using instead of trying to adhere to Lori's limited palette of 4 colors.

Brushes:

• About half dozen, high quality brushes (mostly bristle) in sizes 4-8 (Lori's preferred brand is Silver Brush brand, series 1003 (filbert), 1001 (flat).) Do NOT bring tiny brushes

• Several styles of palette knives

Other:

• Small sketchpad and pencil

• Sealable, non-breakable, spill-proof (clamp-lid) container for mineral spirits (such as the metal Anderson, Holbein, or Martin Universal)

• Odorless Mineral Spirits

• Paper towels and Trash Bags

View Finder

• Value Scale

• Plein Air Umbrella (optional)

• Bug spray, sunscreen, drinking water

• Hat

• Wear neutral clothing
