ROXANNA JO ALEXANDER
Roxanna (Rocky) Alexander is an award winning artist who began her career in watercolors exhibiting in national and international juried exhibitions.
She recently switched to oils and these new works represent an exciting fresh approach to painting fiery dawn to dusk landscapes using a palette knife technique that accentuates her dramatic compositions and application of oils on canvas. Rocky is also one of the premiere painters in our area of gardens and flowers, her passion carrying over from her days as a Landscape Architect. Here again, the drama of the flowers and foliage are accentuated by her use of the palette knife
Rocky is a signature member of the NC Watercolor Society and recently won a Windsor Newton Merchandise Award. Rocky is also a juried member of Artspace a founding member of the Fine Arts League of Cary and teaches both oils and watercolors in Cary and here at the gallery.
