Jean was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was inspired at an early age by her father, a talented artist. She attended VCU and Radford University, graduating with a degree in fine art. She continued her studies with nationally renowned artists including Kevin MacPherson, Camille Przewodek, Maggie Siner, Don Hatfield, Rick McClure, John Poon, Peggi Kroll Roberts and Dreama Tolle Perry. Jean's art has been exhibited around the US and she's won a numerous awards at judged shows, but says she has dedicated herself to painting just because she loves art. While skilled at still life, portraits, and paintings from photos, her passion is plein air creations. "I love being outside with my subject matter so I can experience the environment that surrounds them." Jean is a founding member of the group PAINTNC.ORG. She currently resides in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
