Sisters at the Beach is a commissioned painting of two grandchildren where no photo existed, s0 the concept was pieced together using many images. You can see from the photos that parts of the images were used and other areas recreated from scratch. A commission like this (and really almost all of the beach people commissions) are created from many photos and tend to be very complicated with a great deal of computer scanning. It is always a challenge to create a likeness in these situations, but no matter how small the subject appears, a likeness is evident.
